Well done to Richard Rudden, Product Head, Global Energy, who has been selected as a Lloyd’s Lab mentor.
As the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, Lloyd’s launched the Lloyd’s Lab in 2018 to connect start-ups and insurtechs with experienced mentors who can help them develop new ideas, tools and products for the insurance industry, and support them as those ideas gain traction in the marketplace. According to Lloyd’s, the Lab has become the central incubator for innovation and idea generation in insurance, and is “an award-winning space dedicated to accelerating and fostering new products and solutions fit for the needs of our customers around the world.”
For 10 weeks Richard will offer his experience and thoughts on how to develop the ideas, routes to market and embed new products and tools into the industry. He’ll also advise on the ways to secure support, backing and capacity, particularly for new managing general agents.
Commenting on his role with the Lloyd’s Lab, Richard said: “I’d encourage anyone working in the insurance industry to consider applying to be a Lloyd’s Lab mentor. It’s an opportunity to play a part in helping to shape what could be the next big thing in insurance. It’s also a really great way to get exposure to different lines of insurance, and to understand more about the ecosystem of insurance and reinsurance. Mentors can make a real difference to those looking to innovate in our industry.”
In the same way that SiriusPoint provides security and resilience in an uncertain world, Lloyd’s focuses on protecting what matters most: helping people, businesses and communities to recover in times of need. The Lloyd’s Lab embodies Lloyd’s purpose to share risk to build a brave world, and encourages innovation and idea generation in insurance, so the market can work collaboratively to respond to needs more rapidly. This responsiveness and solution driven approach is complementary to our core company values as we bring together our deep risk capabilities to protect our customers.
